My lovely Rosie fish died on Monday. On valentines of all days.

Rosie

She was an awesome fish. I have no idea why she died. She was absolutely fine. In fact the above photo was taken about 3 days before she died.

Rosie was always a special fish to me. I found her when I was with my dad at the fish shop buying fish for his tank. I saw her and fell in love. We paid for my dads fish and left, but I had to have her, so I went back in and bought her. Just look at that little pouty face!

This is the look that made me fall in love with her.

Rosie

I bought her completely out of the blue, I already had one Betta at the time Knuckles and I certainly couldn’t put the two of them together! I kept her in a little critter keeper from Wilkinson’s until I cycled a tank for her.

In her critter keeper.

She eventually wound up in my 60l tank, after knuckles passed away, and then into her own 20l tank in my kitchen here.

Contrary to popular belief fish are very clever, especially Bettas, who have been proven to recognise their owners and recognise me she did! She knew who her mummy was! and if your hand went anywhere near the tank she would immediately jump at it. She once jumped for my hand when I wasn’t looking, miscalculated, jumped over the side of the tank, hit my leg and landed under the dresser!! Stressful fishy!

Rosie

Here she is just a few days ago. Looking absolutely fine. I really don’t know what happened. Shes sitting next to the commander right now in her make shift coffin ready to be buried next to knuckles in Greg’s garden. No porcelain highway for my lady betta.
