The forum where I originally found this recipe called it burger pie, pronounced Burrrrgrrrr Paiiii, but I think its more like a carb free shepherds pie. Its a dukan recipe but I’ve fed it to non dukan’s and they love it! I’ve even had requests for the recipe! The best thing about this recipe is that there are no measurements. Just make sure you have enough topping to cover your mince.

All the photos for this post were taken on my Galaxy Note. Which is probably why the food doesn’t look that appetising!!

Ingredients

  • Mince.
  • Passata or other tomato variant. (if on PV day)
  • Hot Sauce or Cinnamon. (I use cinnamon if I’m craving shepherds pie, but I mainly use hot sauce)
  • Eggs
  • Quark or Cauliflower.
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Salt and Pepper

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. (bonus points if you can spot the photographer…)

Heat some oil in a sauce pan. Add garlic if you like. I very much like! Then brown your mince. When its suitably brown add passata. (I didn’t here)

 

In a mixing jug add two eggs.

 

A dessert spoon of Quark You can also use crumbled cauliflower here. Cook it for 2 mins in the microwave and then crumble.

 

A dessert spoon of cottage cheese.

Don’t forget the salt and pepper.

Mix it all together.

I like to add more hot sauce at this point. I’ve upgraded to the next level of hot sauce now. :D

Pour over your eggy mixture. This is really the only hard part of the recipe. Ensuring your topping covers all the mince!

Beautifully done!. Add more pepper! Now into the oven for 20 minutes. Or until its golden brown on top!

 

More hot sauce needed!! :D
